There’s so much to Ken Kunken’s story that readers will experience a variety of emotions while turning the pages to this hefty tome. It’s stunning to think how dramatically his life changed after what should have been a routine tackle at a college football game. Not once did I get the feeling that Ken wanted pity, even though he was almost totally paralyzed…for life. A lesser person may not have had the fight in them that Ken did, not only to eventually accepting his lot in life, but living his life to its fullest. While reading, I couldn’t help but think that many able-bodied people haven’t lived half the life Ken is living—from going back to college and earning a number of degrees, including a Juris Doctor degree, meeting a woman from Poland who was initially hired to assist him, and then falling in love and building a family. If you’re looking for a story that offers hope in the darkest of times, I strongly encourage you to get a copy of this one.
